National singing sensation, LPGA tournament sponsor and golf enthusiast Amy Grant joined LPGA.com users in the chat room for a live Mother's Day event May 13. Here is the official transcript of what she had to say.

Mary Ellen: How is your Mother's Day going?

Amy_Grant: Great! Before I woke up, Vince went in to the yard (right about dawn) and cut some climbing roses that were on my beside table when I woke up.

manateeinmd: What is your favorite golf course to play and have you ever beaten Vince in a round of golf?

Amy_Grant: Of course I have never beaten Vince. The golf club of Tennessee is my favorite.

TommyBee: What are Vince and the kids doing for you this Mother's Day?

Amy_Grant: Matt, my 13-year-old son, weeded my flower garden yesterday for about 2 1/2 hours. Millie and Sarah wrote me poems. The baby started smiling this week, but I am not Vince's mother. I have all these unchaperoned kids running around here now. Let's just hope they don't make much noise.

Smilesiss: How are you feeling these days with the new baby?

Amy_Grant: Corrina is a great sleeper which makes life sane. I'm starting to feel like my old self again. Twenty pounds heavier but my old self. I have a date with the treadmill for the next year.

Katja: Any particular reason for naming her Corrina?

Amy_Grant: Vince named her after an old blues song.

egvent22: How are you being able to balance all the wonderful experiences you are going through in your life?

Amy_Grant: Am I balancing them? I just take one responsibility at a time. Some days are a little bit crazy. Vince and I are a great leveler for each other.

Melinda: How is the new album coming along?

Amy_Grant: I am about halfway done. It has taken me a long time to get going. My creative juices were definitely not flowing. Tomorrow I am in the studio with Keith Thomas. Tuesday I am in the studio with Brown Banister.

georgetazer: What is the sound of the new album like, and can you compare it to previous albums? (i.e. pop, acoustic, dance)?

Amy_Grant: The new album has pop and acoustic elements. A dance record at this point feels like a stretch. It has been a challenge to assimilate my experiences over the last few years and put them into songs. That is what has taken so long.

DonnaKehl: Do you have an approximate release date on the new album?

Amy_Grant: No, I do not.

Katja: Is Vince lending his vocals to this new album? Anyone else?

Amy_Grant: He sang a background part on one song that I think I am going to replace with a female voice. He is playing guitar on two songs so far. I love his voice. The album is only half done and I am sure he will be singing on it.

Amyfan_GA: Will you be doing a tour anytime soon?

Amy_Grant: Vince and I will be doing a Christmas tour this year.

Katja: What is the hardest part of making a record to you?

Amy_Grant: Writing the songs and child care.

Katja: You've inspired me greatly since I was a little girl. Anyway, my question is: Who is your favorite new artist these days (any genre)?

Amy_Grant: My mind is drawing a total blank right now … let me think about that one. Rachel Lampa has an amazing voice. She is the best new singer I have heard in a long time.

mmorris: How did you get involved/started with the LPGA and sponsoring the tournament?

Amy_Grant: My first involvement with the LPGA was in 1994, when I played in the Sara Lee Classic Pro-Am and did the entertainment for one of the parties. Clyde Russell, the tournament director, became a good friend of mine. He included me in several events and it went from there.

Cindy Cowie: Did you golf in the Pro-Am this year and if so, which pro were you paired with?

Amy_Grant: Yes, I played with Kris Tschetter. I also played a round with Donna Wilkins.

Melinda: Do your children play golf?

Amy_Grant: Not really, not yet. Although they are gaining interest. A few Sundays ago, my 11-year-old daughter asked me take her to the driving range. She kept teeing up the ball and saying that she was imagining it was Matt's head (her brother). A healthy way to get out aggression, I think. I have plans for summer golf lessons for the kids. Corrina was given her first golf club last weekend. I know Vince has big plans for her. She has played at least nine rounds with us so far.

MODERATOR: Okay Amy, make sure you're honest with this next question!

Judy_from_German001: What's your handicap? Don't hit me like you tried with Jay Leno!

Amy_Grant: I play so many scrambles that I don't have a recent handicap. It is really not up to date. But I am probably about a 25. My first round of golf after having Corrina, I think I got one snowman, mostly double bogeys and one birdie on the front and one on the back. Basically I am all over the map.

Missionary MB: I was curious to know if Jesus is still in your life?

Amy_Grant: Always.

peopleschoice: Is the new album going to be more faith-based?

Amy_Grant: I would say that the new album will be more faith-based than "Behind the Eyes." It will still be a combination of pop and Christian music. I am about to celebrate 25 years of making music. One idea I have submitted to the record companies is a double album entitled "Pieces of Heaven and Pieces of Earth." Obviously, it would contain what I think are the strongest songs from the past few years

#1Amyfan: How about appearing on "Touched by an Angel" in the future?

Amy_Grant: My one acting experience was interesting but exhausting. I missed my kids. It is really a time issue. I would rather invest my work time in making music. It probably wouldn't take that much time but the thought of it is what is exhausting. I think Martha Williamson, the producer, is brilliant.

manateeinmd: What do you think contributes to your long music career and how much longer do you want to continue?

Amy_Grant: When I meet the people that listen to my music, I always feel like we have emotional elements in common (faith, family, struggles, optimism, failures). I think my music articulates common feelings that we share. I have a recording contract for three more records, including the one I am working on. I guess that is it.

DrBillBaby: Do you and Vince ever plan to make an entire album together?

Amy_Grant: I don't think so, but it is only natural that we will have opportunities to perform together more. Whenever he is invited to do a benefit and I am in the crowd, I always join him on stage and the reverse is true as well. Our musical styles are different.

Mary Ellen: Do you have something in your life that you haven't done that you would like to do?

Amy_Grant: Nothing big. I am just thinking off the top of my head here. I'd like to love my kids better and I look forward to not being so busy. I'd like to grow old with Vince. Enjoying family and friends is the sweetest part of life. Living in the moment and experiencing those relationships is the most important thing. I would like to see my children as grown ups - confident in who they are, confident in God's love for them and living respectful lives. Pretty tall order, huh?

MODERATOR: Thanks so much for your time, Amy! And thanks to the fans for the great questions. Any final thoughts before we let you go to enjoy Mom's day?

Amy_Grant: This has really been a pleasure and fun. This is the fastest my brain has worked all week! Thanks for the opportunity and Happy Mother's Day to all of you.
